This project was about taking a picture and putting it on a template, and blending them together and creating the poster. This project was done in Photoshop again on the mac computer. This project consisted of alot of layers. Make a layer then then edit the layer and repeat.

THIS AND THAT”
GRADE 12 COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY & GRAPHIC DESIGN
BY EVAN ANGERS

My inspiration is that everything belongs, some of the elements might look weird or out of place but they belong. Even if everything is thrown together weirdly it makes everything unite as one. I think that it's inspiring and creative. I created this image because it relates to when something doesn’t look like it belongs, it automatically excludes from everything else. If you look closely to the picture you will notice objects that appear that you didn’t see the first time. There is a sense of weird and craziness to my surreal image. If you stare at the background long enough it will move which is insanely awesome.

VIDEO

Grade 9 Video

This is the grade nine video that the Holy Cross com tech students created, edited, and produced. There was alot of hard work put into creating these videos, working hard together and understanding each others weakness and strenghts we were able to pull together thus creating this aswesome video. There were differnent software programs that we used to make this video they were Final Cut Pro, and Soundtrack Pro all used on a mac computer. In the background of the video there is music that I created using soundtrack pro, what I had to do was create the music using several tracks then convert it to an mp3 which we could import to final cut pro.

Hctv Introduction Video

was created in a program on the apple mac computer, called motion. The project is an intro that we put on our projects. We put them at the begining so that people watching it knows who made it and where they made it. The video was probally one of the most fun making. You had the freedom to create and interesting eye catching intro clip. Mine consist of a firey circle with the Holy Cross emblem spining in the middle of the fire.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Architectural Photography

St. Mary's Cathedral Kingston Ontario
 "Where Jesus Stands"

As one of the assignments in Mr. Esford's class we had the opportunity to go downtown and see the wonders of building and architecture that Kingston has to offer. My favorite picture that I took was in St. Mary's Cathedral I like the fact that it is religious, and that Holy Cross is a Catholic so there is a connection. This image is a photo on a “Religious” theme that contains three techniques of architecture photography: angle, texture, and religion. This picture was taken in St. Mary’s Cathedral in downtown Kingston. I took the picture on an angle because the flash lights up the whole alter which gives it an interesting view you see the whole altar, plus you can see behind the altar as well.

Also in this picture the texture of the floor and the flowers in front of the altar gives the altar enhanced colour. The way that I took the photo the floor lights up with the flash and gives off a nice shine, which increases colours into the photo. You can also see the reflection of the altar on the floor which not only adds visual interest but it adds a certain flavour to the picture. I basically choose this photo cause the fact we are a catholic school and the cathedral, the connection is there. A side note the sheet over the altar is white and looks really nice with the yellow and other colours around it.
Also one other aspect of the picture I that I liked, is all the colours in the picture. The bright yellow and the onyx marble legs on the altar really stand out. I also like the statue of mary in the background. Looks nice, its behind the altar, like the last supper mary was at the table. So it looks interesting that the way the picture was taken looks like shes at the altar. The trip was good, due to rain some pictures might look a little wet. The contrast and brightness levels might not be the same as if it was a sunny day. I had a great time not only did I get out of class, but I got to see somethings in Kingston that I did know existed.

Publicity Head Shot Photography

Photo Taking By Evan Angers
This photo is a head shot, that we did for publicity unit. The goal for this project was to create a shadow around the subjects eye but still keeping the sine in the eye. This projected consisted of taking several photos till the photographer was confindate that this picture was good enough. The next step was taking the photo and importing it into the mac computer. The software used for this was Photoshop. When imported we took off the colour to get that fade affect, and focused more on the eyes. This project was pretty easy if you know how to focus your camera and edit the picture
